2. What has the boy lost in water ?
= The boy has lost his ball in water.

3. How are the boy's eyes ?
= The boy's eyes are desperate.

4. Where did the ball land finally ?
= The ball finally landed in the water.

5. Where was the boy staring down ?
= The boy was staring down at the harbour where his ball went.

6. Do you think the boy has lost something earlier ?
= No, I don't think that the boy has lost something earlier.

7. Why is money called external ?
= Money is called external because money can buy only material things not happiness.

8. What was the reaction of the boy at the loss of his ball ?
= The boy was very upset at the loss of his ball.

Give short answer of the following questions.

1. Why does the poet say, " I would not intrude on him " ? 
= The poet does not want to intrude on him because he wants the boy have the experience of losing something and learn the epistemology of loss. So, the poet says the above lines.

2. Why does not the poet offer money to buy another ball ?
= The poet does not want to offer the boy some money to buy another ball because money is external in this regard. Through the money the boy would be able to buy another ball but it would not enable him to buy the happiness that he had with the earlier ball.
